On August 6th, the signing ceremony for the first-phase design and construction project of Zhejiang Hailiang’s production base in Houston was successfully held, marking the successful launch of Hailiang’s production base project in Houston, USA. Cao Lilin, vice president of China State Construction in USA and president of EAorder, and Wang Hu, general manager of Hailiang’s US project team, attended the signing ceremony.

Located at Sealy, a western suburb of Houston, Texas, USA, Hailiang’s Houston production base covers an area of over 230,000 square meters. The first-phase project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020. After its completion, the base will mainly focus on producing high-end copper products such as copper pipes, copper rods, copper pipe joints, new copper conductor materials, and copper processing equipment.

After the signing ceremony held the press conference of the project, and more than 100 people from local governments, Chinese Chamber of Commerce, communities and the media attended. The local community responded enthusiastically to the settling of Zhejiang Hailiang and expressed their hope to strengthen exchanges with Chinese enterprises through this project to promote local economic and educational development. At the ceremony, the Sealy government presented a key printed with "SEALY, AUSTIN COUNTY-TX" to Hailiang’s US project team as a gift, indicating the City of Sealy will continue to open its gate for Hailiang.

The construction of Hailiang’s Houston production base suggested that Hailiang has infiltrated into Texas, a state with the most active economy in the US, marking an important step forward in the company’s global strategic layout. The company will take this opportunity to explore the US copper pipe market and rapidly increase its market share in US.

Zhejiang Hailiang has already built production bases in major markets such as China, Southeast Asia, the United States and Europe. As its production capacity has been rapidly increased, its industrial layout is now becoming more rational. The company will further integrate global production and sales resources, continuously optimize resource allocation, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate the globalization of the company.
